When it comes to nurturing mums, I don’t like to do things by halves and I’m so pleased that friends I have made over the past few months, from likeminded Ipswich businesses, feel the same way. We thought about giving away the usual paper bag full of business cards but decided that we wanted to step it up a notch and provide something really unique…. thus the fabric, upcycled goodie bag was born. [...] What a busy week it has been. My living room has threads and fabric everywhere and there are sandwich wraps in odd corners of the house. The cat is wondering why I’m particularly cranky about her presence anywhere near my sewing machine and the kids are counting sleeps till they get their mother back in both body and spirit. I guess I have been a tad pre-occupied. It’s a good thing I don’t run events for a living. [...] I was at the Mount Crosby Country Market, minding my own business, when a familiar face entered my canopy. It was none other than Kerryanne Farrer, a brilliant arts producer who I happened to work with at The Woodford Folk Festival many moons ago. I love it when you can take off where you left off. We hadn’t seen Kerryanne for 10 years. In the meantime we had spawned three children and created a life out in this lovely semi-rural area near Mount Crosby. [...] |
