Is there mobile phone coverage at the retreat?

There is mobile phone coverage in the Boonah area. However, there is no landline phone in the retreat accommodation.

What happens in an emergency?

The retreat is 5 minutes from Boonah town centre, and 30 minutes from the Ipswich CBD. In an emergency, an ambulance will be called.

Is there a grocery store nearby?

Boonah shops are just a five minute drive from the venue.

Will I be sharing a room with someone?

Yes! There are two single beds in each room.

Can we bring alcohol to the retreat?

You can bring alcohol to the retreat but bear in mind that this weekend is not designed to be a wild girls weekend but rather a relaxing, nurturing weekend for mums and pregnant women who need a break.

Will I be expected to help out with cooking?

The facilitators will organise all the food for the weekend but everyone will take turns in either helping to prepare meals or clean up. Cooking together will be a shared activity during the weekend and we want it to be an enjoyable experience. If you are really averse to the idea of helping with food preparation, please let us know. We don’t want anyone to see this as a chore, but rather an enjoyable shared activity. At the last retreat, everybody enjoyed cooking and eating the amazing food we had.

Should I bring extra snacks?

We won’t be providing soft drinks, junk food, or alcohol, so if you require these items, you’ll need to bring them. Please ensure that any food items you bring are clearly marked with your name.

What food will you provide?

Wherever possible, we will source locally grown organic produce and quality dry goods for the weekend’s meals. All meals from lunch-time Friday to lunch-time Sunday will be provided. If you have any special dietry requirements, please let us know.

Can partners come along to the retreat?

This retreat is strictly for women so that they can have a break from the demands of family life and work life. The purpose of this weekend is to refuel so that women can go back to their families and loved ones refreshed.

Can I bring my breastfed baby?

At the last retreat we had three mothers with breastfeeding babies. Based on their feedback, we’ve decided not to include babies at this retreat. The mothers who attended last time felt that it was difficult to fully participate in the weekend and get the most out of it. While they all enjoyed the weekend immensely, they all said that it would be better to have separate retreats, one with children and one just for the mum. So, with this in mind, this next retreat will be just for mums. If there is sufficient demand for a retreat that is especially for mothers with breastfeeding babies, we will be happy to explore another retreat.

If this retreat is full, can I go on a waiting list?

Yes! We’ll have a waiting list in case anyone who has booked has to cancel. Women on the waiting list will have first option of booking into the next available retreat.

If I have to cancel, can I get a refund?

We understand that sometimes life gets in the way of our plans, children get sick (or we do) and emergencies come up. However we also have a lot of upfront costs that need to be met prior to the retreat. If you cancel prior to February 23rd, we’ll be able to provide you with a refund minus the $100 non-refundable deposit. Bookings cancelled after February 23rd will not be eligible for a refund unless someone else can take the mum’s place.

Can I pay off my registration in installments?

Yes you can. You can pay off your registration in three instalments. If you book prior to December 30th, these would be $133 each. If you book prior to January 31st, these would be $150 each, and if you book after January 31st, $167 each.

I’m a natural therapist/local business owner, can I get involved in the retreat?

We have a full complement of staff for this retreat but if you’d like to get involved in future retreats, please email Cas at cas@mumatopia.com. You are also welcome to become a retreat sponsor to enable a disadvantaged mum to attend the retreat.

Please email us on cas@mumatopia.com or phone Cas on 0438 898 706 or Janette on 0419 011 921 with any questions.
