Welcome to the first newsletter from Mumatopia. We have lots going on! Mumatopia, in conjunction with Precious Packages is pleased to announce that registrations are now open for our weekend retreats for mums-to-be and mums. The retreat will beh held at Mount Barney Lodge, an ecotourism retreat on South East Queensland’s beautiful scenic rim, just 1.5 hours South West of Brisbane’s CBD and an hour from Ipswich. These retreats will give mums from all over Australia a much needed break to rejuvenate, re-energise, connect with nature and connect with other mums so they can go back to their families or prepare for a new arrival refreshed and ready for anything! Places are limited so book early to ensure you don't miss out!

Childbirth: What are my options? Workshop Dec 9, 2010
Mumatopia's first workshop "Childbirth: what are my options?" is being held this Thursday, December 9th. The workshop will walk participants through a "needs self-assessment" to explore their needs in birth and we'll then look at the different models of care available to women in the Ipswich region and look at how they meet those needs. This is a local workshop but Mumatopia can also tailor this workshop to other areas in the greater Brisbane and SEQ region. Markets
Mumatopia's last market for 2010 will be The Handmade Expo at the Ipswich Turf Club, Brisbane Road, Bundamba, Saturday December 18th. The Handmade Expo is a fantastic market with lots of beautiful handmade craft items, gourmet food and jewellery. There's also steam train rides and live music! The market runs from 8am to 2pm. Mumatopia will be having a Christmas Sale on the 18th so come along to grab some bargains. I'll have eco Christmas decorations, eco fabric gift tags, and eco-friendly reusable sandwich wraps on sale!!! I will also have products from Fordicia, Little Brown Dog, and Bubbayaya for sale on the day. Violet Spice and Bubba Chenille will have their own stalls.
In March 2011 Mumatopia will be going along to The Mummy Tree Market at Morningside for something different. Details to come in the New Year.
I won't be doing so many markets next year, as I want to focus on my birth work and on nurturing mums in my local community. But I will let you know when I am doing markets and you can always pick up Mumatopia goodness online or via our retail partners Precious Packages, Handmade Heaven and Spiral Garden.
In store
The Mumatopia online store is chokkas at the moment. Don't forget that you can buy online and I will post items out to you. All items are gift wrapped for your convenience. I also have an Etsy online Store. My Madeit store is currently empty but will be restocked in the New Year. Mumatopia products can also be purchased from Precious Packages, Handmade Heaven and Spiral Garden.

It's hard to believe that in February, Mumatopia will be celebrating our first birthday! 2011 is going to be a fabulous year. i can feel it in my bones. I hope you all have a lovely Christmas and New Year!
