You’d walk in and be greeted by a big smile, and lots of lovely, relaxed people enjoying some craft, a glass of wine and a good ole gas bag. And the monthly Twilight Trading event is set to be just as delicious at the new Precious Packages, now snuggled in next to Bon Laneway on Ellenborough Street. The first Twilight Trading event at the new venue is this Friday night, 25 November and I am delighted to be invited to have my work featured on the night. The truth is, I’ve been head down, bum up, sewing like a crazed woman because there are all sorts of things happening in November and December, starting this Friday with Handmade Heaven at the Gatton Christmas in the Country Arts and Crafts [...] The October Handmade Expo is on this Saturday, from 8am to 2pm. Mumatopia will be there with Sandwich wraps, affirmation bracelets, soap nuts, organic reusable breastpads and baby wipes, Bubbayaya Toys, fabric gift tags, clothes from Little Brown Dog, and baby wraps. Come and say gidday! I’ll be there rain, hail or shine…. hopefully [...] We have a fabulous auction package on offer for tomorrow night’s Bling for Babies event (probably tonight by the time you read this). Seating [...] If a baby’s treatment requires newer technology or more intensive care, they need to be transferred to the larger hospitals but in many cases, babies could stay at Ipswich if the equipment was available in Ipswich (ie. sometimes it’s not a matter of more intensive care but just having the right equipment). Being able to keep babies closer to home is important, especially when parents may live outside of Ipswich city. A drive to the Mater from some country areas involves a 4 hour round trip.
